The Macro*World® web site is governed by Macro*World's Privacy Statement. At Macro*World, we value the privacy of personal information. As a Macro*World user, we want you to know how the Macro*World Privacy Statement affects you. Most importantly, we want you to know that we will take reasonable steps to protect the privacy of the information you have shared with us. Some of the highlights of our practices are described below:
- We protect customer information through physical, electronic, contractual and procedural measures that comply with or exceed applicable laws and standards.
- We train our employees to protect customer information and only authorize access for employees who we believe have a business need for that information. Employees are held accountable by our Code of Conduct and Ethics to properly protect customer information.
- We maintain policies and procedures that provide for the proper physical security of workspaces and records.
- We do not provide individual customer information to any affiliated companies or to unaffiliated third party companies.
We want you to know about cookies and how and why we may use them. Cookies are messages a web server gives to a web browser. The message contains information that is then stored on the customer's computer and sent back to the server when the customer's browser requests pages from the server. Cookies can only be read by the server that has sent the cookie to the browser, and they cannot be used to retrieve any information from the customer's computer that has not been given directly by the customer to the server. Computer viruses cannot be transmitted through cookies. Customers may disallow cookies. You can do this by making the appropriate selection from the browser options. If you disallow cookies, you will be unable to access data through the Macro*World web site.
The Macro*World site requires the use of cookies for effective delivery of information. They are used in two ways:
- A temporary session cookie is randomly assigned when a visitor accesses the site. The cookie contains no personal information and is required to access Macro*World information.
- Customers may want to set up auto log-in for the Macro*World site, and this feature is available. In this case, the log-in information is encrypted and stored in a 'permanent' cookie on the customer's computer to allow for immediate access to the site. This feature can be turned off at any time by the user.
Macro*World will at all times treat any information stored in a cookie with the same security and privacy protection as any other customer information we receive. We will not sell this information.
We want you to know how we may use your email address. When you create a Macro*World account, you are asked for your email address. Your email address may be used to send you your account information, lost password, terms of use and privacy updates, alerts and/or updates, portfolio reviews, general and/or specific correspondence to your questions and/or comments, and other updates that may affect your Macro*World account, and new email services you may request in the future. Your email address is linked to your account and may be changed at any time by you.
When you send us an email to make a comment or to ask a question, we will use your email address to reply to you and may store your email address, your message and our response for quality assurance. We may also do this to meet legal and regulatory requirements. If we collect your email address in this manner, we will not use it to let you know about other Macro*World products and services.
